A BOY is set to celebrate his 8th birthday in style as he gears up to walk through a sea of colourful bubbles with his closest friends and family.

Seven-year-old Liam Tucker, from Melksham, will take part in the Dorothy House Hospice Care’s 5k Bubble Rush fun run, which takes place on June 25, the same day as his birthday, before enjoying a picnic and birthday cake.

Liam, who has autism, will join over 1,200 people who have already signed up to take part in the frothy fundraiser, which will be held at Castle Combe Circuit, near Chippenham.

Mum Amanda Tucker said: “We can’t wait to celebrate Liam’s 8th Birthday party at the Bubble Rush event.

“As he has autism, global development delay and speech delay, Liam really enjoys all things sensory so we know he’ll love playing around in the foam with his friends and family.

“We also chose this event for his party as we wanted the money to go to Dorothy House because it is a great local charity and both my husband, John, and I have lost loved ones and friends to cancer in recent years.”

Emily Knight, events fundraiser at Dorothy House Hospice Care, said: “Happy birthday to Liam for June 25, we’re delighted he is celebrating his birthday at our event.

“The Bubble Rush is really child-friendly and suitable for everyone from young to old. After 1,400 people took part in our first Bubble Rush last Summer, we can’t wait to see even more folks getting involved this year and having fun while raising money for Dorothy House.”
