ORGANISERS of the White Horse Challenge are encouraging people of all ages to take part in this year’s White Horse Challenge.

The White Horse Challenge is a sponsored walk where entrants can choose to walk between seven and 52 miles over the scenic white horses of Wiltshire including Devizes, Alton Barnes, Pewsey, Marlborough, Hackpen and Cherhill.

This year’s annual event, which is organised by Trowbridge-based Monahans Chartered Accountants and raises money for Wiltshire air Ambulance, will take place on Saturday July 1 and Sunday July 2.

Dominic Bourquin, partner at Monahans, said: “Monahans have helped organise and supported the White Horse Challenge since its inception 12 years ago in support of the Wiltshire Air Ambulance, raising £140,000.

“The Air Ambulance is an essential service, saving countless lives over the years and we are proud to continue our association with the White Horse Challenge in support of such a worthy cause.”

This year Greggs is providing the bread rolls, Sandridge Farm is providing the bacon and Tesco the sauces for the bacon rolls for entrants on the Sunday morning.

Westbury-based commercial van dealership Rygor also supports the challenge by providing vans for use and has entered a team for a number of years.

Graham Drake, director at the company, said: “Myself and the team here at Rygor love being involved with the White Horse Challenge and are proud to support such an important cause in the local area.

“It is a privilege to provide vans for the challenge, to transport those taking part, and our team members also enjoy helping out across the weekend.

“No doubt this year’s event will be a tremendous success and raise a fantastic amount of money for the Wiltshire Air Ambulance, which is an essential provision for the county.”
