GUITARIST Keith Hyett is bringing his brand of Anglo Spanish music to Great Cheverell, when he will repeat the recital that charmed an audience in Worcester Cathedral earlier this year, in the village hall at 7.30pm on Saturday, July 8.

The guitarist has performed locally before but never visited Great Cheverell.

“I have been playing for 40 years. I started with rock until I changed guitars and got into classical music.

“Sometimes young children come along and end up being quite transfixed by the music,” he said.

Mr Hyett will be playing from his new collection Memories of You, as well as pieces from his four previous albums.

He explained that he draws from his surrounding landscape to write his music and said: “The Spanish style of my music fits perfectly when describing my surroundings.”

Although one of his pieces has a flamenco feel to it, it is inspired by a view from a tower on the edge of the Cotswolds.

Another big influence on Mr Hyett’s composition is poetry and has used the work of Thomas Hardy and other English poets to help form the rhythm and melody of his latest music, which he describes as moody.

Tickets are £7 and will be available to purchase on the door or at www.ents24.com
