AFTER thieves broke into a Staverton home, snatched the car keys and stole a car, police have launched an appeal to catch the perpetrators.
A house in The Slipway was broken into between Sunday night and in the early hours of Monday morning and car keys were stolen from inside.
A Hyundai I10 was then stolen from the driveway, before later being found abandoned on the A361 close to the junction with Ravenscroft.
PC Georgina Wyatt said: "We would like to hear from anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in the Staverton area last night or anyone that saw a vehicle being abandoned near Ravenscroft.
"We are carrying out a thorough investigation including house-to-house enquiries and would like to hear from anyone with information – call 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
"I would also like to take this opportunity to remind residents to be mindful of their home security – please ensure all house keys and car keys are kept out of sight and hidden away. Don’t give thieves an easy route in to your house, or your vehicle."
