HOLBROOK Primary School is celebrating after winning an Achieving More award.

The Trowbridge school claimed the accolade at the Celebrating Every Child awards ceremony for ensuring every child is included, regardless of background, challenge or need.

The school in Holbrook Lane based was also praised for ensuring its most vulnerable learners secure the best possible outcomes, high quality teaching and strong relationships with families.

After being presented with the award by Achievement for All ambassador, David Gandy and CEO, Professor Sonia Blandford, Rose Nunn, deputy head at Holbrook Primary expressed her delight at winning the award.

"Our fantastic staff are committed to ensuring that every pupil is able to achieve their full potential through high quality teaching and strong relationships with families," she said.

"This award is an endorsement of our belief that every child is of value; this has always been a guiding principle of Holbrook Primary School."

The awards were based on building core strength in children, improving progress and reducing exclusions, improving resilience, outcomes and employability for children and improving staff wellbeing and morale and ensuring every child is included.

"I am delighted with this award because it endorses our aim to ensure every child is thought about as an individual," said headteacher Roger Whitewick.

"Politicians love league tables but this is validation for the work teachers do on a daily basis to provide the best for all children. We reach the parts league tables do not."
