MORE than 500 people descended upon Chilton Foliat Primary's festival of colour, music and light which raised £3,100 for the school.

Stuart Hofgartner, from TV show Dickinson's Real Deal, got proceedings underway at the school in a day that included ballet performance, Kaya drumming workshops, displays by Aim to Fly UK, circus acts and a Bollywood dance routine.

Freya Priddey-Chan, chairman of the Friends of Chilton Foliat Primary School, said the event was a spectacular occasion of vibrancy and colour and she was delighted that so much was raised to help the school purchase IT equipment.

"It was just a brilliant day. The crowds were huge, the amount raised was great, and it was just a really fun day for everyone involved," she said.

"It is an event everyone really looks forward to and it did not disappoint. The children got so into it and it was lovely to see them enjoying themselves so much.

"Each year we like to do a colourful theme as last year we had a Rio Carnival, the year before we had a country fair and barn dance and this year was maybe the best yet."
