A FLAWLESS report was achieved by Bratton Pre-School after Ofsted inspectors scored it outstanding in every area.

The pre-school, in Tynings Lane, got top marks for how effective its leadership and management was, the quality of teaching, learning and assessment, the personal development, behaviour and welfare of pupils and for its positive outcomes for children.

The inspector also identified that staff knew the children ‘remarkably well', praised their ‘sharp focus on encouraging communication skills’ and their ‘high behavioural expectations'.

Joint playleader Wendy Waller said: “This award is testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone who has helped to make the group what we are today.

“The report also noted that children were taught to assess risk and achieve manageable challenges, thus becoming exceptionally independent and that all children make outstanding progress given what they know when they start.

“The group is not resting on its laurels though and our team are planning to further enhance the environment both inside and out to support independent learning and resilience."

The pre-school, which has 38 children, is run by a parent committee and joint playleaders Mrs Waller and Mrs Bryant.
