At the July meeting, and just two weeks after a hip operation, Jan Savage was installed as president of the Inner Wheel Club of Warminster. She was president last year and will carry on in the post for a further 12 months to see the club through its 60th anniversary year. She was president during the 50th year and has taken the chair on several other occasions - so is well versed in all things Inner Wheel.
As with last year, Jan's charity will continue to be Hope for Tomorrow which sends mobile chemotherapy units to outlying areas, so saving patients the stress of having to make lengthy journeys to and from busy hospitals; up to 20 patients a day can be treated in these well equipped and calm units.
Inner Wheel has a month's break during the summer and will meet again in September. They have, however, a planned trip in August to the Otter Nurseries in Wincanton for a social day out organised by Pam Hyland.
