VILLAGERS in Westwood are being invited to attend a reception at their newly-refurbished Parish Rooms on Saturday, September 9.
The reception is to thank all those who donated money to make the improvements possible.
Wendy Manister, of the Westwood Parish Room Trustees, said the parish rooms were now open and taking bookings following the extensive refurbishment.
She said: “The newly-modernised and extended facilities are the ideal local venue for children’s parties, family events and for local clubs and activities.
“Many people took the opportunity to see the changes for themselves during the recent Westwood Church Fete and the feedback from visitors was 100 per cent positive.”
The improvements were made possible by the generosity and kindness of local residents and village organisations. To mark this, the parish rooms will host a special reception on September 9 from 1pm onwards.
Wendy added: “We would particularly like to see anyone who kindly donated money to make the improvements possible.”
There will be tea, homemade cakes and a warm welcome available from the volunteers who run the new tea room at the parish rooms.
The tea rooms will open from 2pm to 5pm on Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday until the end of September.
The Church Fete on Saturday, July 15 raised a total of £1,558 for church funds.
