Police are appealing for information following a sexual assault in Warminster.

A 36-year-old woman was running in Woodcock Lane at around 7.30am on August 10 when she was sexually assaulted by a man who touched her bottom as he ran past her in the same direction.

The woman shouted and pushed the man away before he ran off in the direction of Fairfield Road.

The man was carrying a maroon coloured backpack and was wearing a white shirt with grey coloured trousers.

He is believed to be aged between 20 and 30 years old, around 5 ft and 7 inches tall and clean shaven with short, fair hair.

PC Piers Webber said: “This was a really upsetting incident for the victim who has been left feeling shocked and anxious as a result of this man’s actions.

“We have released a CCTV image of a man we would like to speak to in connection with the incident .

"Do you recognise him? Are you able to help identify him? Any information you have could be really significant to our enquiries.

"Alternatively, were you in the area of Woodcock Lane on Thursday morning and did you see a man matching the description in the area?

“We would like to reassure residents that we take incidents of this nature extremely seriously and understand the upset it can cause to victims. We have been carrying out a really thorough investigation and have been carrying out patrols in the area since the incident took place.”

Anyone with information should call police on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
