BUSINESSES in Wiltshire have been named and shamed for paying their workers less than the national minimum wage.
The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy published a list of 233 businesses that underpaid workers on Wednesday.
It included Firlawn Nursing Home in Holt, Skills Direct in Trowbridge and Beechfield House Hotel in Melksham.
The current minimum wage for over-25s is £7.50 an hour.
The report says that £2m of back pay was found to be owed by the companies, with the most prolific offenders being in retail, hairdressing and hospitality.
Since 2013, the scheme has identified £6m in back pay for 40,000 workers, with 1,200 employers fined £4m.
Firlawn Nursing Homes said it did not want to comment, and Skills Direct and Beechfield had not responded by the time the paper went to press.
