A 41-YEAR-OLD man has been left with facial injuries after a group of men assaulted him and stole his jacket, which contained his wallet and house keys, in Trowbridge park last weekend.

Police are appealing for more information after a group of men chased the victim from a bench in the park along Park Road between 2-2.15am on Saturday (August 19). The group then caught up with the 41-year-old in Market Street where they then assaulted him and stole his jacket.

PC Tom Carver said: “We appreciate that this incident happened in the early hours of the morning but we are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident itself, or anyone who saw a group of males believed to be aged in their mid teens in the area, prior to, or after the robbery.

"The group ran off along an alleyway at the side of Mastershoe, which leads to the loading bay area of The Shires at the end of Court Street – were you in this area at the time? Did you see any suspicious behaviour? Any information you have could really help our investigation.

“We are currently carrying out enquiries including CCTV analysis in order to identify the offenders."

Anyone with information should call police on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
