A?FORMER?George Ward School pupil is making a welcome return in September as part of the Melksham Food and River Festival which takes place on Saturday and Sunday September 2 and 3.

Best known for winning Classic FM’s Singer of the Year at the age of 17 in 2007, Rhiannon Lambert is now a London Harley Street nutritionist specialising in weight management, eating disorders and sports nutrition.

Adrienne Westbrook, Chair of the Festival committee, said: “Melksham Food and River Festival are delighted to announce that former George Ward Pupil, Rhiannon Lambert, will feature in the Leekes Marquee on Sunday, September 3.

“As a leading Harley Street nutritionist, Rhiannon will share what a lifetime of eating well means to her. She will empower you to embrace a new healthy way of living through the food you enjoy and the life you lead, encouraging everything in moderation to regain a sense of balance.”

As a professional soprano who trained at the Royal Academy of Music, Rhiannon learned early on the importance of living a healthy lifestyle. Her belief that nutrition can play a significant role in your overall health, wellbeing and appearance has been tested as she has performed all over the world.

Her qualified approach to nutrition and total dedication to her clients’ needs has seen Rhiannon work with some of the world’s most influential people, including Master Chef’s Greg Wallace, the Detox Kitchen eatery in London, Olympic athletes and NHS hospital consultants and general practitioners.

Now in its third year, Melksham Food & River Festival is a partnership between Melksham Food & Drink Festival and the Wilts & Berks Canal Trust (Melksham, Chippenham & Calne Branch).

The main food and drinks day will be on Sunday, showcasing local producers, as well as providing free entertainment with local bands, over 70 stalls featuring food, drink and local organisations, and attractions including fairground rides and face painting.

Adrienne added: “We would like to thank Leekes and all of our sponsors for their support for this very exciting event in the Melksham calendar. We have put in an order for another fine sunny weekend, and we are looking forward to a fantastic, fun-filled family event!”
