WARMINSTER Town boss Mark Breffit admits his side didn’t quite do enough at either end of the pitch to merit all three points as they were held to a 2-2 draw by Radstock Town on Wednesday evening.

The Red & Blacks had made a decent start to the season with three wins from their first four matches but dropped their first home points of the campaign as they twice had to come back from behind at Weymouth Street.

Trailing to Radstock’s opener, Jake Herd fired home the leveller from 20 yards to get back on terms but the visitors regained the advantage once more.

However, home skipper Charlie Walton came to the rescue with 10 minutes to go, although Warminster were unable to force a winner despite hitting the woodwork in the dying moments.

“Overall the draw was fair,’’ said Breffit, whose side had beaten Portishead Town 2-0 on Saturday with goals from Jack Miluk and George Butler.

“We didn’t really defend properly and didn’t take the chances when they came to us in the final third either.

“I’m really pleased (with their start to the season). We’re in sixth place at the moment so that really gives us something to build on.’’ Joint-manager Joe Kirkpatrick struck Westbury United’s winner shortly before the half-hour mark on Saturday as his side eked out a 1-0 win at Bishops Lydeard to stay among the early-season pacesetters.

Jamie Harrison secured his first win as Corsham Town manager after the Southbank side clinched a 1-0 success against Ashton & Backwell United on Saturday.

Harrison’s team had suffered a difficult start to the campaign, but stopped the rot as Leigh Rogers’ penalty earned them the spoils.
