THE A36 at Black Dog Hill, Chapmanslade, was closed this morning after a serious accident involving two vehicles, one ending up on its roof.
A Vauxhall Omega and Seat Leon were involved in the crash.
A Wiltshire Police spokesman said: "We were called just before 7am to a report of a serious collision on the A36 Black Dog Hill. Ambulance and fire are at the scene.
"The road is currently closed while emergency services attend and the scene is cleared. The closure will stay in place for a number of hours while a collision investigation is carried out."
It is understood that a local man has died in the collision.
- The road is now reported to have been re-opened with traffic delays easing in the area.
