RAMBLERS from Warminster and the surrounding area took part in the sixth and final event for the town’s summer guided walks over the weekend.
On Sunday, 20 walkers set off from the Reading Room in Fonthill Bishop on a five-mile circuit on the Fonthill Estate.
Their ramble took them beside the lake, along the drive to Fonthill House, through the hamlet of Ridge and woods to return via the Estate yard.
Walk leader Victoria Coombes said: “We started out with rain but by the end had blue skies overhead and the sun shone, making a wonderful end to our last walk of the summer.
"The walks have been very successful, although we had to cancel one because of the weather. We have had around 50 people talking part during the summer.”
The walks have covered Horningsham and Longleat, the White Horse at Westbury, Cradle Hill on Salisbury Plain, Scratchbury Hill Fort and Norton Bavant, and the Wylye Valley.
