A CLASSIC 1969 VW campervan stopped off at various towns across the county to gather the views and experiences on health and care services.

The Campervan and Comments Tour travelled almost 400 miles around Wiltshire, with staff and volunteers stopping off in Trowbridge, Bradford on Avon and Westbury to find out what local people thought about the areas health and care services.

It finished off the two-week tour with 1053 views collected from people of all ages.

The most popular topic of conversation was local GP surgeries, which came with mixed views. Some are satisfied with the appointment systems that are in place, but others find the automated appointment system is hard to use.

Healthwatch Wiltshire Manager Lucie Woodruff, said: “It’s been a great two weeks meeting people from all over the country and listening to their views.

“The role of a local Healthwatch is to make sure the health and care system meets the needs of the people who use it.

“The roadshow gave us the opportunity to get out there and meet as many people as we could to find out about their experiences.

“A big thank you to all our volunteers and staff who helped make this possible and of course to all the members of the public who took the time to speak to us and share their views.”

Services reviewed by the public will be put into a Rate and Review online feedback platform, due to be launched later this year by Healthwatch Wiltshire.
