CAN creativity improve with age? Bradford on Avon U3A Photography Group believes it can.
Members of the group are all retired or semi-retired but enjoy learning new skills and techniques in order to produce a cracking picture.
The U3A Photographic Group’s first exhibition will be held at the West Barn, Bradford on Avon, on Saturday and Sunday, October 21 and 22.
From 10am-4pm on both days, visitors will be able to view some 70 images of members’ work.
Spokesperson Marion Dewar said: “In the four years we have been meeting up, many members have made significant improvements and taken on board advice given and learnt in workshops or trips.
“You don’t always need a Canon or Nikon to take the ‘perfect’ picture, some are taken on compacts and even mobile phones!”
The Group began four years ago and now has 30 members who meet once a month in Bradford on Avon town centre.
They are able to show their photographs, get constructive criticism and obtain explanations about their work.
They also run Photoshop workshops and location visits for improving techniques such as night shoots, street photography and close up photography.
The U3A (University of the Third Age) is a national organisation for retired or semi-retired people which offers a wide range of activities to those wishing to learn about different skills.
The range from languages to architecture, music to history and archaeology and coach trips, while also making new friends.
