MORE than 120 enjoyed a song and dance by the New Male Majorettes who handed over the money they had raised throughout the year for three different causes.

A jam packed Spencer Sports and Social Club, Beanacre Road, Melksham, played host to a night of music from Swindon band Bandantree, a buffet and a raffle.

Then the Trowbridge group handed over a £4,000 cheque to Wiltshire Air Ambulance, £1,500 to Devizes Opportunity Centre, which supports children from birth to five who have learning difficulties, and £500 to Sands, a charity that does research into stillbirth.

The night raised a further £438, which will go into the group's kitty and that will be split between the three charities.

"It was a really fun and enjoyable night and it was great to meet the charities in person to hand over the money we had raised. We did a little dance too which went down really well," said member Danny Holton.

"We were really happy with the turnout, the music was really good, the food was very tasty and everyone had a lovely evening.

"We are looking for a good six to eight new recruits to join the team for next year. We train at the Cavalier Pub in Eastleigh Road, Devizes, on Sunday from 4-6pm, so please come along."
