A GRANT of £460,000 has been secured to help improve the quality of life for people living in Wiltshire's residential and nursing homes.
Wiltshire County Council announced today that it has secured a grant from the government, which will be used to fund a range of schemes including sensory gardens, hairdressing salons and communal areas.
Independent residential and nursing homes were invited to put forward projects by the county council who, along with a number of other organisations such as Age Concern, decided which schemes were successful.
A total of 49 projects have been funded through this scheme, and the Order of St John's Care Trust Homes, which has sites in Trowbridge and Westbury, was just one of the organisations to have their bid for new garden facilities and mobile pedestal touch screen PCs, accepted.
