COFFEE lovers can treat fire, police and ambulance workers to a free hot drink as part of a new initiative set up by The Food Gallery.
Customers can now donate £1 to pay for a coffee to thank emergency crews.
Bob Holman, who runs The Food Gallery with his wife Nikki and children Rich and Kat, said: “We think it will give a boost to those often unsung heroes in the Emergency Services to know that the public value them enough to donate money for a coffee.
“We all like to know we are appreciated and it is particularly important for the Emergency Services to realise that. It is a small gesture but we think it is an important one.’
The cafe will also donate half of money raised to SWIFT Medics, a charity that sends emergency response doctors to road accidents and incidents across the south west. SWIFT doctors go to about one emergency a week and often providing life saving care, but is reliant on public donations.
Emergency service personnel just need to show their ID to enjoy a coffee at the Marlborough High Street cafe.
