PEPPA Pig and Santa are expected to join the Shaw Trust for its Christmas lights switch on at Palmer Gardens in Trowbridge tonight (Friday, Nov 10).

The switch will be flicked at 7pm with assistance from Peppa Pig and Santa, who may be arriving with a convoy of bikers on the night.

Last year, Paralympian Stephanie Millward switched on Shaw Trust's lights at the garden centre and nursery.

The Shaw Trust is a national employment, learning and skills charity which runs the Palmer Gardens centre and nursery.

The Trust invests the money it makes from the sales of its products at Palmer Gardens into providing training and work experience opportunities to young disabled people from the local area.

The Palmer Gardens Education Programme offers individuals invaluable support with their literacy and numeracy skills, helping them gain career-progressing accredited qualifications in customer service, horticulture and food hygiene.

Students can then practically apply their new skills in work opportunities in the Palmer Gardens shop, café and garden centre.
