MINIATURE railways stirred up a lot of interested at the Westbury model railway show on Saturday (November 11).

Crowds of people came to watch demonstrations on how the engines are made and see a variety of different sized models in operation while enjoying a buffet spread.

John Cruse, group leader of West Wilts gauge 0 group said: “The day went very well and we had lots of people come to see our models.

“A lot of families attended which is great as we would like to to get more children interested.

“We put on these days to show people what we do, not just to raise money, we want to spark some more interest in railway modelling and we are now looking forward to next year.”

After 18 model railway shows the event has become very popular both in the town and further afield with people travelling from as far as Reading to see the impressively intricate models.

A two minute silence was held in the exhibition hall to allow for everyone to pay their respects for Remembrance Day.
