An appeal has been launched in a bid to find a man who went missing on Monday in the Wiltshire area after there was growing concern for his safety.

John Walton, 61, is originally from Sheffield however he was reported missing from Wiltshire, where he had recently been staying.

He has short grey hair, a clean shaven face and is of an average build.

Officers believe Mr Walton may have travelled to the Weston on Green area of Oxford, but now believe he could have travelled elsewhere in the UK.

Concerns are growing for Mr Walton’s welfare and anyone with information is asked to report it via 101 to either South Yorkshire Police quoting incident number 254 of 11 December, or Thames Valley Police quoting incident number 1435 of 11 December
