ELDERLY residents and those in need in Lacock shared a festive tradition last week when Wiltshire College presented them with a hamper full of produce from their campuses.

Lackham assistant principal Ian Revill, principal Amanda Burnside and deputy principal Iain Hatt presented the hamper filled with meat, eggs, jams, chunteys, Christmas puddings and biscuits to the parish council on Friday (Dec 15), which will be shared out to those in need.

A Christmas tree was also given to the National Trust village by the campus and placed outside the Red Lion pub in the High Street by Horticulture students at the beginning of the month.

Ian Revill said: “Lackham is pleased to support our most local community and we appreciate that Christmas is a time of giving presents.

“The students on the campus do a lot of charity and fundraising activities throughout the year but at Christmas it is nice to be able to give a little something to the local residents as a gesture of seasonal goodwill.”
