AN independent Christian bookshop in Chippenham will be closing its doors for the last time in 33 years at the end of the month.

Staff at the Revelation Christian Resource Centre in River Street have been preparing for the closure since the summer but the shop is bustling with activity while stock is cleared.

"The decision to close was made in the summer but we won't close until the end of the month" manager Ruth Ranger said. "It is quite sad but we feel we are now in the right position to close.

"We have been in the town for 33 years now and we have had some lovely customers over the years.

"Obviously we'd like to thank them for everything and encourage everyone to come in and buy something in our closing down sale."

The store, which remains open until January 31, will donate any surplus books to Christian charity Book Aid, while Scrivens Hearing Care on the High Street has agreed to be the new collection point for Chippenham Foodbank.
