EIGHT pupils from Chippenham schools completed a special course focusing on lifesaving firefighting skills.
The pupils, who attend Hardenhuish School and Abbeyfield School, completed their course with a passing out parade after demonstrating their new-found skills at Trowbridge Fire Station.
Christine Sharma, the youth intervention co-ordinator at Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service, said: “The pass-out parade was quite special as unfortunately they couldn’t complete their pass-out in November due to illness.
“To return a couple of months after their course and perform the presentation as they did was quite an achievement.”
The pass-out was performed in front of Mayor Cllr Mary Norton and High Sheriff Lady Penelope Marland.
Scott Williams, from Hardenhuish School, said: “We have seen improvements in teamwork, confidence and self-esteem.
“They have thoroughly enjoyed the experience and we are very proud of their achievements.”
