THE father of a teenage boy, who suffered a suspected perforated eardrum during an unprovoked attack in Corsham, believes police should be doing more to tackle ongoing anti-social behaviour in the town.

Fifteen-year-old Kristo Chrushcov was allegedly lured out of his home in Pickwick Road and then attacked by the gang, all of whom have been identified to police, yet despite calling 999, officers did not attend to help.

The footage of the attack, which was filmed by one of the gang, was then circulated on social media.

“In spite of reporting the assault to emergency services, the police were not able to send anybody out to see us and there was no attempt to disperse that gang as I had requested,” his father Ben said.

“Sadly and needlessly, one of the boys in the gang went on to reportedly attack somebody else’s child.

“I do understand the need to investigate the original assault as fairly and as thoroughly as possible but I cannot understand the police force’s current lack of ability at being able to at least try and prevent further attacks or threats taking place.

“As a parent, am I seriously supposed to deal with this myself? To go to the other houses and demand the threats stop and the little thugs stay away from my son?”

Kristo, who has an appointment at the Bath Royal United Hospital later today for doctors to check on his ear, has been taken out of The Corsham School for the time being until his father is satisfied he is safe to go back.

He wants to see his son’s attackers held to account, not only by the police force.

“I’d like to see the two main perpetrators taken off the streets immediately,” he said. “I put a call out on social media and I’ve been shocked by how many other people have faced these thugs.

“It is part of a much bigger problem.”

A Wiltshire Police spokesman said: “We are currently investigating an assault on a 15-year-old boy in Corsham on Saturday. We have conducted a number of inquiries and have made contact with those involved, who are all under the age of 16.

A boy, under the age of 16, attended Chippenham Police Station for interview last night and our investigation is continuing.

“We have also been working with partner agencies, including our Youth Offending Team, to tackle longer-term anti-social behaviour issues in Corsham.

“We would like to remind people that posting information on social media could be detrimental to the investigation, and that if anyone has any information about the assault then they should contact Wiltshire Police on 101.”
