A SCHOOL cake sale has raised £400 for a charity close to their hearts.

Parents of pupils at Minster School in Warminster got together to hold a cake sale to raise money for Sarum children's ward in Salisbury.

Over 300 cakes were made and donated to the sale by Alex Rall, the chef at Warminster School, and every single cake sold.

Warminster resident Debbie Martin who helped sell the cakes said: "The sale was so successful, we had a manic time trying to serve everyone, it was so busy which was great.

"We wanted to raise for this great cause because Ellie, one of the mums who organised the sale, had a lot of contact with them as her twins were treated in the ward.

"My son Finn was also treated there, so its great to be able to give back to such a worthy cause.

"We were so pleased with the amount of money we raised, and people were so generous and often told us to keep the change from their cakes.

"I want to thank Alex for making all the cakes for us, they were amazingly decorated with all sorts of flowers and other designs, he did a great job."
