Adver Sport assess the performances of the Swindon Town players in today’s 3-2 win at home to Port Vale in League Two.
REICE CHARLES-COOK – 5
Looked a little tentative on his line and will perhaps feel disappointed at failing to command his box better for the Vale goals.
BEN PURKISS – 6.5
Not a stellar day for Town’s defence but frequently cut out Vale’s threat in open play and was calm head during some frantic periods.
CHRIS ROBERTSON – 6
Drafted in after injuries to others but didn’t show many signs of rustiness and headed a lot of balls away.
ROLLIN MENAYESE – 6
Still adjusting to regular first-team football and got in some strong challenges. Booked.
KYLE KNOYLE – 7.5
Energetic on the right and after taking a few whacks from the Vale players, still got himself in position to set-up the winning goal. Booked.
OLLIE BANKS – 6
A few errors crept into his game that we haven’t seen before but pulled off one superb chance-saving block.
TIMI ELSNIK – 7
Not his most prominent performance but still showed his creative nous before succumbing to injury after the break.
KESHI ANDERSON – 5.5
Showed glimpses of what he can do but was up against some physical Vale player so was largely quiet and withdrawn in the closing stages.
MATT TAYLOR – 7
Didn’t hit the heights of the last two games but was still an effective outlet and his crosses from the left caused Vale plenty of headaches.
LUKE NORRIS – 6
Tried to be busy and was always looking for the ball. Good composure for Town’s second goal but snatched at a couple of chances himself before being replaced.
MARC RICHARDS – 7.5
Continued his superb scoring form with a brace, the first of which came via a perfectly precise header.
Substitutes:
JAMES DUNNE – 6
(For Elsnik, 64) Helped stiffen up the hosts in the middle.
KAIYNE WOOLERY – 6
(For Norris, 64) Added a bit of pace and created a good chance for himself.
PAUL MULLIN – 7.5
(For Anderson, 80) Made an instant impact with a superb winning goal.
Subs not used: Stuart Moore, Ellis Iandolo, Joe Romanski.
