THE owner of a bustling Trowbridge pub has offered a £100 reward to people who can provide the police with information to help catch the culprits who vandalised the place.

Mike Lefever headed to open up the Kings Arms in Castle Street when he saw that several swear words had been spray painted on the front of the pub and on the door as well.

The fed up owner then paid £63 in paint to cover up the graffiti, which took an hour or so, and then to make it look spick and span, it took another few hours as well, before the pub reopened on February 12.

Now he is offering £100 for information that may lead to a successful conviction of the person or persons responsible for vandalising the Kings Arms.

“This is not funny at all. This is a waste of my time. I hope the people who did this can be caught,” said Mr Lefever.

“It must have happened on the Monday night. Someone had used black aerosol and spray painted across the front of the place.

“I couldn’t do my job if this wasn’t removed so I did it myself and got the paint out of my own pocket.

“This is the first time it has happened in the eight years I have been here. We get the odd broken window by accident but nothing like this.”

Mr Lefever appealed for people to come forward if they had seen anything or if any nearby shops had any CCTV footage.

“If people can come forward and help us that would be great. I want these people convicted,” he said.

“Hopefully the police can make some headway but so far nothing has come of it.”

If you have information call the pub on 01225 751310 or police on 101.
