A TRAIN conductor was headbutted and verbally abused by a man at Trowbridge station.
Police have released CCTV images of the assault that took place at 6pm on January 26.
As the train was preparing to leave, three men and a woman forced open the train doors, despite them being locked shut ready for departure.
The conductor approached the group and asked them to leave the train.
Following the torrent of abuse, one of the men in the group approached the conductor, threatened him and then grabbed him around the neck.
He then attempted to headbutt the conductor. The guard managed to move away from the group and the service continued to Westbury.
The guard experienced pain in his neck and shoulder area following the assault.
Officers would like to speak with the man shown in the CCTV images as his might have information that could help them investigate.
