GOLFERS will duke it out over 18 holes at Cumberwell Park in Bradford on Avon for a charity match in aid of Wiltshire Mind.

Trowbridge Mayor Deborah Halik has organised a charity golf day on March 21, which includes a breakfast meal, before teams tee-off, a two course dinner, prizes and a charity auction.

Former Team GB Paralympian Rachel Bown will be the guest speaker on the night.

Cllr Halik said: “I am really looking forward to this day. I have never played golf properly but it is for a good cause and I am sure it will be a success.

“Usually if I give it a go, large clumps of earth come out of the ground, but my sporty and enthusiastic team are raring to go. It is an event that is slightly different from what I am used to but it should be good fun.

“There are plenty of space available in regards to teams taking part. It will be great to have Rachel speak on the day too.”

The day gets underway at 9.30am at the golf club. Teams need four people in them and it is £50 per person to enter. Fair Trade will provide refreshments during the round of golf.
