YOUNG and old came together for a good old sing-a-long at Steeple Ashton Village Hall.

Year 2 and 3 children from West Ashton Primary were invited to sing for the over-50 social club, Forget-Me-Not, and they didn’t disappoint.

The 15 youngsters sang the school’s solar system song, Rule the World by Take That, This little light of mine and finally, with a bit of help from the club members, We’ll meet again.

Higher level teaching assistant Sandra Meehan said: “It was a huge success, the kids sang their hearts out and everyone really enjoyed themselves.

“The club meets every second Wednesday of the month and they invited our school children to come down and sing for us and we leapt at the opportunity.

“It was lovely to see them getting into the songs and they liked it so much, we have been invited back to sing again at Christmas time.

“Our children in reception wanted to come too, it was so exciting.”
