THIS year’s Christmas light switch-on in Trowbridge will take place outside the Civic Centre following a successful trial run in 2017.
Trowbridge councillors agreed at a direct services meeting on Tuesday to have the switch on at the St Stephen’s Place venue so that roads in the town centre do not have to be closed.
The Friends of Trowbridge Park are hoping to raise thousands of pounds to put up Christmas lights in the trees in Trowbridge Park too.
Cllr Geoff Whiffen: “We thought we should do it again, as it went well last year. Plus we won’t shut off the centre.”
