PUPILS at Bratton Primary school welcomed a special guest to their school as part of literary week.

Artist Rachel Heard from Corsham paid the pupils a visit to teach them more about illustrating.

Over the week, the children at the school have also been reciting and studying poetry and creative writing.

Miss Heard said: “It is great to be able to work with the children, we have been illustrating poems and the children have really enjoyed it.

“They have have been very enthusiastic.”

Headteacher at Bratton Primary School, Ian Bolton, said: “We hold these enrichment weeks as something educational which adds to our curriculum, but also as something extra for the children that they can enjoy.

“This certainly helps to improve their learning in class.

“We think a lot of the skills which they will learn through these activities will be applicable outside school, such as communication.”
