COUNCILLOR of almost five years, Paul Macdonald handed in his resignation to Warminster Town Council this week due to personal commitments.

Cllr Macdonald had served with the council since May 2013 and had been a member of the Planning Advisory Committee, Town Development Committee, Devolved Services and Assets Sub-Committee and the CCTV Working Group.

His work and personal commitments had made it increasingly difficult for him to find time to attend meetings and carry out his Council duties

Members expressed regret at the decision, as his knowledge and commitment were valued and would be missed.

The Town Clerk will write to cllr Macdonald to thank him for his service over the past years.

The Mayor, Cllr Rob Fryer said: “We’re sad to see Paul go as he is a person who is very committed to the community. His help on the council during his time in office was much appreciated.”

A notice of vacancy has been posted by Wiltshire Council and can be found on the town council’s website and noticeboards as well as on Wiltshire Council’s website.
