HISTORY, music, art and film all came together in one jam-packed day at Trowbridge Town Hall on Saturday.

Town hall trustee Rick Jotcham got the ball rolling at 10.30am when he took 20 people on a historical tour around the venue, which used to be the base of Trowbridge Urban District Council, the local Magistrates’ Court, Coroner’s Court and County Court.

This was followed by jazz duo, Literally The Giffords, performing in the town hall foyer from 11am-1pm before the films Mother and Motherland were shown in the supper room to round off a very enjoyable day.

Also on Saturday, the multimedia exhibition, Cicatrix, which explored the scarred landscape of Salisbury Plain in commemoration of the First World War, came to an end after a six-week-long display.

Events and venue assistant at Town Hall Arts, Jessica Bennett, said: “It was a fun-filled day with a lot of variety on show.

“We want to thank Rick for leading the history tour which was really well received.

“The music and the films went down very well too.”

enny Burnett, Susan Francis and Prudence Maltby for putting this fascinating exhibition together."
