ASSAULTS, a theft and members of staff being threatened all took place in two separate incidents at a Trowbridge store this weekend.

POLICE are investigating two incidents that took place within 24 hours of each other over the weekend, that involved vandals causing havoc in a Trowbridge store.

At 9.30pm on Saturday, a man entered the Central Stores, in Sycamore Grove, and demanded alcohol from a member of staff.

After being refused service, he then hurled abuse at the staff member and then knocked over a display in the store before leaving.

The at around 8pm on Sunday, police received a report of a group of young people causing trouble outside the shop.

In this incident, the door of the shop was damaged, some chewing gum was stolen and two people were assaulted.

By the time police arrived at 8.05pm the suspects had left the area.

A Wiltshire Police spokesman said: “Our enquiries are ongoing and we are examining CCTV to try to identify potential suspects.

“The first incident was reported to us today (23 April 2018) and we now believe the two incidents may be linked.

“Anyone with information should call police on 101.”
