EXCITEMENT is building amongst staff at Trowbridge Birthing Centre as they prepare for their own bake-off to celebrate International Midwives’ Day.
On Friday, May 4, midwives will duke it out to see who will be crowned the best baker at the birthing centre.
The event runs from 2pm-4.30pm and it is open to all to come along for a tea party.
Midwife Esthea Pluck said: “All of us are really looking forward to it. It should be a really fun day with a good bit of healthy competition.
“This is the first time we have done it and we are doing it to promote the birthing centre, to invite more people to have their babies here and to celebrate this important day for midwives.
“There is a real buzz about the place in the run-up to the bake-off. I think I will be doing a birthing pool cake, so it should be interesting to see how that turns out.
“It is a good chance for people to come down and have a chat about what we do here too.
