THE family of Jordan Taylor, who died after being stabbed in the street, are joining a march to 10 Downing Street to demand that the government does something to tackle the knife crime epidemic.

Hundreds of protesters will gather in the capital on June 3, asking authorities to increase the number of stop and searches by police, impose harsher sentences on people caught with knives without a good reason and increasing sentences for knife wielders.

Mum Emma Caley, of Drynham Lane, Trowbridge, whose son Jordan died after being stabbed four times in March 2017, will hand in a petition bearing almost 60,000 signatures at the Anti Knife UK organised event, calling for tougher sentences.

“We need to see zero tolerance. Knife crime has been allowed to spiral out of control and the government need to start listening,” she said.

“The government are ignoring us victims. We have grieving parents who have been let down by the judicial system and knife crime has risen to its highest ever.

“I have found great support in what I do and have met hundreds of grieving parents like myself and this has been a great comfort. I have been given good advice by others, who have seen their son’s killers given no justice for their crimes.

“I am confident we can make a change. Jordan would be proud of us all.

“I have joined another grieving mother, Amy Morgan, whose teenage son Tyler was stabbed to death in 2015. We have linked our petitions
