TALENTED surveyors are set to fight it out to win the Young Surveyor of the Year Award South West.

From apprentices and trainees to associates and employers, the award celebrates up and coming talent, aged under 35, in the property sector.

Nine award categories cover a variety of surveying disciplines and there is also an ‘Apprentice of the Year’ accolade to celebrate the future talent coming into the industry through apprenticeships.

Sophie Smith, building surveyor and RICS ambassador, said: “There’s a misconception that surveyors all wear hard hats and work on building sites. These awards bring awareness to the diverse range of surveying roles available for all.”

Anna Keys, judge and chair of the RICS UK Matrics Board said - a networking and support group for young surveyors, commented: “This year is the 150th Anniversary of RICS, so there’s never been a better time for surveying firms to showcase achievements of their young professionals.”
