POLICE were called to a supermarket in Trowbridge on Friday after receiving reports about a theft there.
Officers turned up at Sainsbury’s, British Row, just after 11am to arrest a man who was being restrained at the store.
Ian Gadd, of Semington Road, Melksham, was then arrested by the police.
The 39-year-old was charged with theft from a shop, driving a car without a license, resisting the police and using a car without any insurance.
Since the incident, he has been bailed to attend Salisbury magistrates Court on June 29.
