BOTH young and old got the chance to unleash their inner poet at Trowbridge Library as part of the Celebrating Age project.
Poet Jon Seagrave delivered the session to just over a dozen people as part of this initiative that encourages older people to get involved in cultural activities.
At first, Mr Seagrave asked those present to write one line on their thoughts on Trowbridge, before making them into a poem and then they put together another one after looking at Second World War artefacts from the Wiltshire Museum in Devizes.
Library manager, Basil Nankivell, said: “Everyone had a lovely and very interesting time. Jon was fantastic.
“Some people said, ‘I feel nostalgic and you’ve taken years off me,’ and another said ‘I enjoyed meeting the other people and listening to their stories and memories.’
“This project is a great idea and it is great it got that £99,931 from Arts Council England, which runs until 2020.”
