LOCAL people now have the chance to win tickets for a fundraising Big Band swing music and comedy evening in Bath.

Dorothy House Hospice Care is holding a prize draw competition for local people to win two pairs of tickets to the event on Friday, June 29 in a marquee at the Recreation Ground in Bath.

The entertainment starts at 7.30pm and features live music from The Park Lane Big Band and comedy by Geoff Whiting.

Fabulous swing music from the Miller and Ellington era, from the Rat Pack to contemporary tunes, will be performed along with a supporting comedy act.

To enter the prize draw for the Big Band swing music and comedy evening like the ‘Win Free Tickets’ post on the Dorothy House Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/dottyhouse.

Then nominate the person on the post thread who you think should receive two free tickets for the event. The two winners will be picked at random and will be announced on the Dorothy House Facebook page and event page on Thursday, June 28 at 2pm.

Dorothy House will refund the ticket price of winners who have already bought tickets and the two winners can collect their prizes on the door.

David Pegler, Band Leader of The Park Lane Big Band, said: "We are looking forward to performing for such a wonderful cause. Dorothy House does incredible work and it’s a pleasure to support this worthy charity."

Yvonne Brunton, Community Fundraiser at Dorothy House Hospice Care said: “A huge thank you to the excellent The Park Lane Big Band and to fabulous comedian, Geoff Whiting, who are all giving their time for free.

“We are thrilled these talented performers have agreed to support Dorothy House, please bring your friends to enjoy a fun summer’s night out with entertainment that is too good to miss.”

If you wish to go and don’t win any tickets in the prize draw, standard tickets cost £26 and include a drink on arrival. Drinks will also be available to purchase. Guests are welcome from 7pm for a 7.30pm start and the event ends at 10pm.
