FAMILIES across Wiltshire who find themselves living in Bristol while they have a child being treated at the Children's Hospital there will

benefit from charity CLIC Sargent's Home from Home scheme, thanks to a Vodafone Community Connection Award.

CLIC Sargent was selected by the Vodafone store team in Bath to receive the £1,000 award.

CLIC Sargent is the UK’s leading cancer charity for children, young people and their families – providing specialist support across the UK since the charity formed in 2005. The CLIC Sargent care teams fight to limit the damage cancer causes in every part of life –emotional, financial, educational or professional.

CLIC Sargent Home from Home provides free accommodation for over 100 families each year, so they can stay in close proximity to Bristol Children’s Hospital whilst their child is undergoing treatment – families often stay for up to five weeks, which could cost more than £3,000 in hotel bills.

Tori Williams, senior fundraising engagement manager at CLIC Sargent, entered the charity for the award and said “A big thank you to Bath Vodafone employees for choosing to support CLIC Sargent, the £1,000 donation has made a real difference to young cancer patients being treated at Bristol Children’s Hospital – £1,000 means that a family can stay at Sam’s House (a CLIC Sargent Home from Home) for one month free of charge. Our free self-catering accommodation means that families can worry less about the little things and focus on spending time with their child whilst they undergo gruelling cancer treatment.”
