ONE of the Bath Minerva Owls has officially landed in Bradford on Avon.
Frida Owlo is now on display at the south side of the Town Bridge, delighting passers-by and motorists.
She was officially unveiled on Tuesday by Bradford on Avon’s mayor, Cllr Alex Kay. The ceremony was followed by a champagne celebration.
Frida Owlo was created by local artist Bunny.
She was inspired by the Mexican artist and political activist Frida Kahlo (1907-1954), who was adopted by the women's rights movements.
Organiser James Sullivan-Tailyour, owner of the Swan Hotel, said: “This is what particularly appealed to us, as Bradford on Avon has a year-long programme of Women’s 100 Group activities celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Suffragette Movement winning the right to vote.”
