LIVE broadcasts by Westwood Radio kept locals informed about what happened at the school’s summer fair on Saturday (July 7).

The summer fair took place from 2pm to 5pm at Westwood with Iford Primary School.

Head teacher Ian Rockey said: “It was a brilliant day with amazingly good weather.

“Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves and it really lovely that our local community came out to support the school.”

“Last year we raised £1,500 for school funds and we’re hoping to beat that total this year.”

More than 200 staff, parents and children attended the three-hour event with entrance at £1 for adults and 50p for children.

Activities included a special live performance by members of the Westwood School Dance Club.

Earlier this year they reached the regional final of the Great Big Dance Off national dance competition.

There was also country dancing, a disco dome, games, a tug of war, inflatable fun, tea and cakes, beer and Pimms, a raffle and a silent auction, and lots of stalls.

Mr Rockey added: “It was another of those memorable afternoons for which Westwood with Iford School is famous.”
