FIREFIGHTERS waded into the River Biss in Trowbridge to rescue a poor deer that was in deep water.
On Wednesday at around 6pm, Trowbridge fire crews used security fencing to seal off the area, near the town bridge, and put on special suits to try and help the deer.
After locating the frightened animal, crew members managed to lift it to safety, before the RSPCA officer took it down the road and released it into the countryside.
