WILTSHIRE Police have issued an e-fit picture of a man they wish to speak to following a distraction burglary in Corsham.

At approximately 2.30pm on Sunday, June 10, a man attended an address in the Brook Drive area and told the elderly female homeowner that he was doing some work in the garden next door which was likely to cause damage to her garden.

The man then led the woman outside her property and into her back garden. When they returned to the front of the house, a vehicle was waiting for the man on the driveway.

The woman later discovered that eight pieces of jewellery had been taken from inside her home.

The items of jewellery stolen include a silver chain with a Waterford crystal heart; an antique engagement ring with one diamond in the middle; a gold locket with love birds on; a pearl necklace in a leather case, and an Omega men’s watch.

The man is described as white, aged between 40 and 50, approximately 5ft 5 inches tall with broad shoulders. He was clean shaven and was wearing a blue check shirt, blue tie, beige trousers and brown shoes.

Anyone with information in relation to this incident, or anyone who recognises the man pictured, should call police on 101 and quote crime reference number 54180052745.
